Nutrient Rich, Anti-Inflammatory Green Juice

Jalapeño, pineapple, parsley, green apple, ginger root, lemon, celery, garlic, cucumber juice.

This juice was my go-to in order to help relieve sinusitis pain and pressure as well as speed healing during times when I am “under the weather”. I had sinusitis in January which was my main symptom when I had Covid. This juice is full of vitamins, minerals and enzymes with anti-inflammatory properties.

Ginger root has a very long history of uses in numerous forms of traditional and alternative medicine. It’s been used to aid in digestion, reduce nausea, and help ease cold and flu symptoms. Ginger root is high in gingerol, a substance with powerful anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties.

Jalapeños also contain lots of vitamin C and vitamin B6. One of the most unique compounds in jalapeños is capsaicin, an alkaloid that gives peppers their characteristic spicy quality and is responsible for several of their health benefits.

Pineapples help improve your health and been said to boost your immune system to provide you optimum protection against external viruses and bacteria. Pineapples contain trace amounts of phosphorus, zinc, calcium, and vitamins A and K. Rich in Vitamin C and manganese.

Parsley is rich in many vitamins, particularly vitamin K. Parsley is also a great source of vitamins A and C important nutrients with antioxidant properties. The fragrant herb is particularly rich in a class of antioxidants known as flavonoids, the primary two are myricetin and apigenin.

Apples really are a rich supply of nutrients, Vitamin K, and contain high amounts of antioxidants.

Lemon juice is an excellent source of Vitamin C as well as antibacterial and antifungal properties. Lemon juice has a high content of naturally occurring citric acid. It has a pH value of just over 2, making it extremely acidic. However, it is good for you as the juice has an alkalizing effect once it is consumed.

Celery provides a source of vitamin K, vitamin C, potassium, folate, manganese, calcium, riboflavin, magnesium, and vitamin B6, anti-oxidative and anti-inflammatory properties.

Garlic, throughout ancient history, was primarily used for its medicinal properties. Ancient Egyptians, Greeks, Chinese, Romans, and Babylonians used garlic to treat a variety of ailments, because it contains allicin, a special compound that has been found to have extraordinary medicinal properties. Consuming garlic juice provides antioxidants to the skin that will reduce the signs of aging and prevent inflammatory conditions or infections.

Cucumbers contain some B vitamins, Vitamin A, C, K, copper, magnesium, potassium, phosphorus, electrolytes, and other polyphenolic compounds.

All of these added together did make for a very tasty juice as well as in aiding in a speedier recovery.
